H1N1 was detected in Bali pigs.

Denpasar, Bali – Evaluation of Health Service and Sanglah Hospital showed that H1N1 virus – known as “swine flu” – was detected in Bali when bird flu virus was spreading.

However, according to Health Service analysis, H1N1 virus detected in Bali was only has similar subtype with Mexico “swine” flu. In structural, genetic matter of Bali H1N1 is different with recent circulating “swine” flu, said Head of Medical Service section Sanglah hospital, Bali, Ken Wirasandhi.

“H1N1 is commonly found in human, and called as ‘common flu’. Almost everyone has been infected. But the recent H1N1 strain (“swine” flu – adm) has high virulency and may causes death up to 7-8 percent”, said Ken.

Head of Health Service Bali, Nyoman Sutedja assumed “swine” flu could be the mutation of H1N1 detected in Bali previously. Health Service will work with WHO to do blood sample test to human also animals.

For readers review, H1N1 in pig is the real swine flu. But, recent Mexico ”swine” flu is not pig disease. It never been found in pigs nor human. H1N1 virus is also common flu virus in human. Do not get confused.

I don’t think there’s a greater health risk right now like the h1n1 swine flu virus, the government isn’t telling us everything about this pandemic. It will kill thousands more this fall/winter.
