An Indonesian patient, allegedly suffering from the H1N1 flus virus, died on Tuesday at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, Bali.

The patient, identified only by his initials SS, was admitted to the hospital early Tuesday but passed away five hours later.

The hospital’s spokesperson Putra Wibawa said that the hospital has yet to determine the exact cause of death.

Sukabumi, West Java ::: Deceased student tested negative bird flu

Sukabumi, West Java – A bird flu suspect, Ram Pramesti (22), a student of Tirtayasa University, Serang, Banten, and also a resident of Kampung Cibeureum Selaawi, Desa Tegal Panjang, Cireunghas Sukabumi, who died last week, tested negative bird flu infection.

“This is according to Research and Development Laboratory, Ministry of Health,” said Dadang Sucipta, Head of Infectious Disease Eradication Section (P2M), Health Service of Sukabumi.

Due to the negative result, the P2M has withdrawn bird flu medicines from Ram’s family, which were given to them for anticipation.

Meanwhile, the cause of Ram’s fatality was suggested due to thypoid fever, which victim had suffered of a month prior to his death.

For swine flu anticipation, Dadang mentioned that his team had distributed announcement to each Public Health Center and Subdistrict to apply early detection practice for any possibility of swine flu infection.

Lampung ::: Bird flu suspect patients, N (16) and IF (1.4) tested negative.

Bandarlampung, Lampung – The bird flu suspect, N (16), treated at Abdoel Moeloek hospital, announced negative H5N1 infection. This result is according to Ministry of Health laboratory examination.

“Patient will be released today. His condition has recovered,” said Vice Director of Service Division Abdoel Moeloek hospital, Pad Dilangga, Tuesday (14/7).

In July 2009, this hospital has treated two bird flu suspect patients. First patient, with initial IF, has returned home last Friday. This 1.4-year-old boy was diagnosed to have common flu and treated in hospital for 10 days. It is also reported that he had no contact with dead birds found in the surrounding of his house.

Another patient, M (14), who had history of consuming sudden dead chickens found in nearby his house. Hospital treated M as bird flu suspect patient, including Tamiflu administration and isolation to the patient.
