Pangkal Pinang – Three regions in Bangka Belitung province (Babel), Kabupaten Bangka Tengah, Kabupaten Bangka and Pangkal Pinang city are susceptible for bird flu endemic.
Coordinator of Local Disease Control Center (LDCC), Judnaidy, said that those areas had been stated as bird flu endemic areas according to number of death birds. “This is according to survey result of Participatory Disease Surveillance and Respon (PDSR)”, says Judnaidy.
Due to those findings, LDDC of Babel announces three areas as “60 suspect” bird flu epidemic areas. This means that monitoring will be done to fowls within 60 days through quarantine and caging. If there is no case observed at the end of the term, those areas will be stated as free from bird flu after three months.
