Little boy from Kuantan VII tested positive bird flu infection.

 

Wahyu tested positive bird flu virus infection. Official result hasn’t been issued.

 

Wahyu (2.9), who died last week tested positive bird flu according to blood sample examination by Health Service Riau Province. This was informed by Head of Health Service Riau, Mursal Amir via mobile phone. “We only had received the sample this morning. Wahyu was tested positive bird flu”, said Mursal. Wahyu is presumably got infected from dead fowls nearby his house.

Further actions have been taken by Health Service of Riau by doing recording anyone who had any contact with victim, closest people and health workers. Meanwhile, head of Health Service, Pekan Baru, Rini Hermiyanti who contacted separately said she hadn’t received sample result report. If it was positive, the control measure would have been taken. Definite action was being taken by 21 days observation to Wahyu’s closest contact before his death. “They are 6 family members and Arifin Ahmad regional hospital health workers”, Rini added. Rini wasn’t sure if there were any family members who developed same symptoms as high fever, although she heard such report before.

Karawang Bandung victim is recovering

Bird flu suspect patient from Kampung Pasir Konci Desa Sarijaya Kecamatan Majalaya Kabupaten Karawang, R (52) is recovering. Victim’s brother Umar Gunawan (44) said that victim has been able to get up and communicate. Until now the bird flu infection confirmation result hasn’t issued yet.

Another bird flu suspect from Bandung

Bandung, West Java – Urip Rahayu, 23, resident of Bukit Pelamungan IX Bekasi and Rajim, 50, resident of Kampung Pasirkunci RT 08/03,Kelurahan Sarijaya, Kecamatan Majalaya, Kabupaten Karawang, admitted to Hasan Sadikin hospital Bandung due to bird flu (avian influenza) suspect. Urip has been treated in Flamboyan room since 24 March because of having breathing problem and high fever. Rajim is treated at the same room since Sunday (30/3). This story is related to previous post from Detik news.

Bandung, West Java ::: Bird flu suspect

Bandung, West Java – A resident of Kampung pasir Konci Desa Sarijaya Kecamatan Majalaya Kabupaten Karawang, named R (50) suspected to contract bid flu virus. Victim was admitted to Hasan Sadikin hospital, 8 pm Sunday (29/3) by recommendation of Dewi Sri clinic, Karawang.

According to R’s wife, Raisem (40), her husband developed fever and breathing difficulty signs. He was then brought to Ramerta clinic and then directed to Dewi Sri clinic. “Doctor at Dewi Sri clinic said that my husband has developed bird flu symptoms, but no device to confirm it,” said Raisem.

Raisem also mentioned that her husband had fever and breathing problem before, on Saturday (21/3). But then the symptoms had recovered on Monday (23/3). During this last two weeks number of chickens were found suddenly dead in victim’s area. “My husband is the only who developed symptoms”, she added.

Indramayu, West Java ::: Suspect is not confirmed

Indramayu – Bird flu suspect from Blok Karangjaya, Desa Mangunjaya, Kecamatan Anjatan, Was (33) tested negative bird flu infection. Victim has been allowed to return home after treated at Indramayu regional hospital, Wednesday (25/3). “Laboratory test showed negative result”, said director of Indramayu regional hospital, Dr Dedi Rohendi.

He also mentioned patient only had fever and had recovered. Previous report said that Was announced as bird flu suspect after he had developed high fever and breathing difficulty. Was also had contact history with suddenly dead chickens. Was was treated at special observation room of Indramayu regional hospital.

Meanwhile, Livestock division of Agriculture and Livestock service, Kabupaten Indramayu, Drh Dian Daju had done investigation to the reported dead chickens in Desa Mangunjaya, but they have been buried.

Garut, West Java ::: Bird flu suspects are negative bird flu infection

Garut – Two bird flu suspect patients in Kabupaten garut, West Java have been confirmed negative bird flu infection.

 

Head of local hospital, dr Widjayanti Utoyo, SPM  this Saturday (28/3) said that laboratory examination of Research and Development Health Ministry to both sisters (Aning, 30 and Ikah 35), showed serological negative and nasal/throat swab negative. Real time gel base examination also showed negative H5N1. Both patients, residents of Kampung Pabrik Lebak Cintamaya Kecamatan Cigedug, were taken home after the result issued. Local Health Service, dr Hendy Budiman said his party tried to make joint work with Livestock Service of Garut. Recently, about 50 chickens were found suddenly dead nearby bird flu suspect victims house.

Bird flu suspect from Ngawi tested negative.

Ngawi – Tadi Riyanto (2) resident of Desa Sidokerto Karangjati was tested negative bird flu infection. Laboratory result to the boy’s blood sample showed negative bird flu infection.

Flu symptoms and fever accompanying were confirmed as bronchitis. The result also supported with chest x-ray by Kabupaten Ngawi hospital. “X-ray showed that Tadi was in a good condition. His trombosit level also good, “said Siska, nurse who was taking care of Tadi.

The hospital has allowed Tadi to return home. According to the hospital he was no longer developing fever and the flu signs had disappeared. His appetite had recovered and he was able to return into activity. His coughing was still observed although it was reduced.

Now Tadi is taking medicine from the doctor to diminish his bronchitis. He also should do check up and routine control at local public health center

Pekan Baru ::: Bird flu suspect boy dies

Wahyu Ibnu Saputra, bird flu suspected patient passed away after six days treated at Arifin Ahmad regional hospital, Pekanbaru Riau, Thursday (26/3).

The body of this 2-year-old boy has been brought to Jalan Kuantan VII, Kelurahan Tanjung, Kecamatan Limapuluh, Pekanbaru. Victim’s body was covered according to avian influenza victim treatment protocol.

Medical team of Arifin Achmad regional hospital has sent saliva sample of Wahyu to Health Ministry. The result will be issued next Monday. Wahyu is the 6th bird flu victim in Pekanbaru.

25 Areas in Jakarta susceptible to bird flu infection

Jakarta – Twenty-five kelurahan areas in Jakarta are known susceptible for bird flu. During 2005-2009, some bird flu infected human victims were occurred on those area, naming them as bird flu ‘red spot’ area.

Head of Health Control Division of Health Service DKI Jakarta, Ida Bagus Nyoman Banjar said that susceptible area for bird flu spreading is always changing. “Border area is very high risk’, says Banjar.

Banjar mentioned that within this year two of three bird flu positive victims had died. Bird flu positive case areas in 2009 are Kelurahan Pertukangan, South Jakarta; Kelurahan Penggilingan and Cakung Barat, East Jakarta.

Health Service data of 2005-2009 period showed 37 positive cases and 31 of them were fatal.

Indramayu, West Java ::: Bird flu suspect

Indramayu, West Java – Resident of Desa Mangun Jaya, Kecamatan Anjatan, Indramayu, West Java, suspected to be infected by bird flu virus. Victim was brought to Indramayu regional hospital due to high fever and prolonged breathing difficulty.

Victim, Wawan, 33, was admitted to hospital Wednesday (25/3) night after treated previously at Anjatan public health center. He’s now placed at special observation room with intensive treatment.

Patient has contact history with dead chicken before. Blood sample has been sent to Indramayu Health Service laboratory. Team of Indramayu regional hospital is still observing the patient, and no confirmation has been issued yet. Patient is the third bird flu suspects treated in Indramayu regional hospital during 2009.
