Location: Kampung Cipari, Desa Margaluyu, Kecamatan Pancatengah, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. (Location of Tasikmalaya –> tasikmalaya
Facts:

* Hundred of chickens were suddenly died in this area. This is happened within few hours.

* It has been last for a week, up to now.

* The incidence started to happen on the area next to the primary location.

* The dead chicken showed blackened/darkened of liver

People were afraid to eat the dead chickens, and no follow up has been taken to investigate this case.

Cilegon, Banten District: Bird flu killed backyard chicken

This is the news from PosKota, one of local news paper in Jakarta, Banten and West Java.

One backyard chicken in Cilegon belongs to Badriah, warga Kampung Luwung Sawo, Blok Kedongdong RT 01/09, Kelurahan Kotabumi, Purwakarta, was suddenly died. The bird’s saliva and feces samples were tested bird flu positive by using antigen detection kit called Anigen.

The area surrounding has been quarantined, meanwhile the monitoring is still ongoing up to now.

About the ProMed Recent Post: “AVIAN INFLUENZA, HUMAN (66): INDONESIA (WEST JAVA)”

According to the ProMed recent post (31-08-2008) which mentioned the bird flu suspects detected in Malang, West Java Indonesia, we’d like to reconfirm that it was not “West Java” but “East Java”. It is about 2 hours southern Surabaya by bus. The poultry avian influenza has been known to be involving the following 9 subdistricts, namely Pagak, Wonosari, Tumpang, Sumberpucung, Kepanjen, Pakis, Bululawang, Gondanglegi, and Pagelaran.

The other recent case from East Java was the bird flu suspected case in Pacitan District, located on northwest of Surabaya (this is not confirmed by the authorities). This case was reported recover from the disease.
